After the official launch in November, the Samsung Galaxy Camera was launched with some fanfare in Malaysia last month with dance performances, a briefing by Samsung Malaysia Mobile Product Manager Victor Ng, and a photo-sharing competition to show off the consumer Android camera’s advanced photo-taking and -sharing abilities running on 4.1 Jelly Bean. So does the Galaxy Camera live up to the hoopla?

Right off the bat, we should mention that the Samsung Galaxy Camera is a wonder of a point-and-click, Android-powered camera. But despite its appearance, it doesn’t feel like a camera powered by Android, but maybe due to its functions seems more like a camera-shaped Android phone.

As a consumer-friendly camera though, the Galaxy Camera really shines. The camera makes it extremely easy to capture quality imagery, and anyone familiar with dealing with a Android smartphone can figure out most of the navigation pretty easily.
