First, the camera interface is unobstructive. The various camera modes are conveniently tucked in the bottom left corner (in portrait mode) that is easy to reach with the thumb. The same cannot be said of the settings option as it is located at the top corner in both portrait and landscape mode. Reaching out to that will most likely require the involvement of the other hand due to the device size.
The camera app fires up pretty quickly when launched in both unlocked and locked states. When in low light environment, the low light mode in the form an owl icon will automatically pops out in the viewfinder for easy selection, which is a very convenient little feature that we like. It certainly beats having to dive into the settings each and every time we need to activate it.
As for the picture quality themselves, outdoor shots and generally places with a lot of light sources that the 13MP camera produces come out looking okay with pleasant colors. It certainly won’t beat the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 or Apple’s iPhone 6 but for casual shots, it is sufficient enough. In low-light situations, the aforementioned low light mode will go in some way in improving the final results. Meanwhile, the 5MP front camera will be ably take care of all your selfie needs.
