13MP camera is pretty standard stuff found in a lot of smartphone nowadays. While not blowing any minds away, the camera on the Flash Plus shoots pretty decent photos.

But before we get there, let’s start with the basics. The camera app fires up quickly. It takes about 3-4 seconds to launch it from a locked-phone state. Once inside, you will find the minimalistic camera interface with the essential virtual buttons located at the four corners of the screen. Aside from the usual settings, the camera also comes pre-packaged with features such as Face Beauty, Picture-in-picture (video-in-video in video mode) and its own set of filters.

And if you dive into the settings, you will find a voice control toggle. Turn that on and you can take pictures by just uttering “cheese” or “capture”. The voice recognition does it job really, really well as it managed to catch what we said in most of our tries (tips: it even works with whispers!). It is no doubt a nifty little feature that is more just mere gimmick. It’s actually very handy in many situations.

The fast launch is complemented by the fast focus and fast shutter speed, which are all ingredients for a good point-and-shoot. Shooting on-the-spur moments is thus a breeze. Just whip up the device, quickly draw an O shape on the display to launch the camera and start snapping away in no time.

As mentioned earlier, the Flash Plus takes decent-looking pictures. Photos taken in bright light environment look great with accurate colors. No complains there but on the other hand, shots in low-light conditions turn out surprisingly well with not much noise level.

Here are some of the pictures we took using the Flash Plus.

For your selfie needs, you’ll be happy to know that the Flash Plus boasts a 8MP front camera. Pictures taken with it are without doubt clear and crisp but we would wish for more options and customization to play around with.
